hello kitty (ii)

" Short Note: Next event to come - Pikom PC Fair @ Taman Kereta, Kuching (8 - 10 December, 2006). "

More cats.. caged.

There weren't just home cats turning up for the show. It was International Cats Show right? So, how can you not have a big shot, star attraction? Even the dog show had a dude for show.

The crowd attraction here is..

.. big cat, tiger cub - Lovely. Lovely's the cub's name. I am not sure what species of tiger she is. Probably Malayan Tiger? Not sure.

For sure, the baby cub was so tired entertaining human friends for two straight days. She's been working overtime since morning. So tired that she couldn't be bothered to stand up or sit. She just lie on the floor and stole a nap. Poor Lovely.

Bloggers at work? You may never know.

There were some familiar cat-faces in the cat show. There were a couple of cats which are featured in Japanese manga/anime pretty often.

Winners on display.

I don't know what they won though.

Other cats just sleep, and sleep...

.. and sleep.

And that rounds up the coverage on Cats show.

Dogs in the morning, cats in the afternoon.

International Cats Exhibition Show had a two days run in Civic Center, Kuching. Despite the event being a 3rd year running, it was my first visit to the show. I had been abroad (over the South China Sea to the Peninsular) for past few years.

I was there on the 2nd, and the last day of the event. I guessed I had missed out on quite a lot. There were a lot of empty cages on display. Some kitties had gone home.

The crowd turn out seemed to be okay, there are more Malay visitors here if compared to the dog show. I dare to say, there was none at all there. You-know-why.

What's left of them, was only the tags without the actual kitties in the cage.

I saw no doll, nor exotic hair.

But, as I explored further to the hall. Most cats were still around to show their trademark lazy, or curious faces.

I am no dog expert, and I am certainly worse when it comes to cat. I know nothing at all.

"Be still, move, and you'll have your head blown off."

This cat seemed to be wondering why they people are surrounding him, and looked at him as though he's an alien. He was getting freaked out.

These cats, really looked like they were inmates, to be thrown behind the bars.

This one seems nice to be hugged eh?

Cats are much easier to be photographed if compared to dogs. They're less active than dogs. As evidents, you can clearly see the not-to-be-bothered expression on the face.

More to come in the next post.

who let the dogs out... (iii)

The last installment of dog show features one of the star of the day. You wouldn't get much chance to see this dog in tropical country, and definitely not here. Even if they manage to bring them in, it requires high maintenance to keep the dog.

Let me present you... the star in Eight Below - the husky!

Poor husky pup was caged, (I think he's still pup, he looked puppyish), as he was pretty freaked out by the crowd there. He was unwilling to be around the places.

See how he reacts?

But when he's relaxed. He was a pretty good socializing. I patted him, and he's just nice.

Interesting thing about huskies is that the huskies looks pretty much wolf-like, very beautiful.

Look closer to both his eyes. They're pretty unique, one blue, one black. Nice eh? I heard that's because our husky here is not a pure bred.

Other dogs include:

Lanky and leggy hound.

The muscular Rottweilers.

The winners of the day on parade. You can see a Bassett Hound on the far left in the picture.

And you get to see a Terrier (Or is it another Toy Dog? I can't tell) in the front ground.

Didn't I just mentioned that kids love dogs? Dogs can fulfill kids' fantasy, just like this...

If you are familiar with Japanese Manga - Detective Conan (American title: Case Closed), you'd probably seen the main character, Conan (or Jimmy Kudo a.k.a Shin'ichi Kudo) riding on the back of his dog.

Nice attempt there for the little girl, probably imitating her fantasy idol. ;-)

who let the dogs out... (ii)

More doggies coming through.

Cute doggies to cheer you up.

Even the dogs are in Christmas mood.

"When is Santa coming to town?"

"I hope he doesn't forget about my present, I've been a good girl."

There were quite a few retrievers there, but I am not sure which exact breed they were.

And, some dogs were just bored after waiting for their turn to show up.

"Hey, is it my turn yet?"

*looking left and right*

"I guess not."

One more entry to conclude the dog show, coming up.
